DR. SIMONA PESUN

Dr. Simona Pesun was born and raised in Winnipeg. Prior to attending  the University of Manitoba to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Dentistry and a Doctor of Dental Medicine in 1997, she graduated from the University of Winnipeg with a Bachelor of Science degree. After practising general dentistry for 3 years, she found that the field of endodontics was her favourite discipline in dentistry. That led her to the University of Minnesota where she obtained her Master of Science and Certificate in Endodontics. She is a fellow in the Royal College in Dentistry as a Specialist in Endodontics in Canada, and is also certified in the United States as a Diplomate of the American Board of  Endodontics. Dr. Pesun is a past president of the Canadian Academy of Endodontics, and has been on the scientific committee for the Manitoba Dental Association Annual General Meetings. She is also on the executive of the Women’s Dental Network. Dr. Pesun enjoys all aspects of endodontics. She worked in full-time private practice for 16 years and part-time at the University of Manitoba teaching endodontics before starting Prairie Endodontics with Dr. Rodrigo Sanches Cunha. In her spare time, Dr. Pesun enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two sons.

DR. RODRIGO SANCHES CUNHA

Dr. Rodrigo Sanches Cunha completed his Undergraduate Dental Degree in 1994, which he obtained from the Catholic University of Campinas in Sao Paulo - Brazil.  His post-graduate studies include a Specialty degree in Endodontics obtained in 1997 from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP); in 2002, a M.Sc. degree in Clinical Dentistry (Endodontics), and in 2006, a Ph.D. degree in Dental Sciences both of which he received from Sao Leopoldo Mandic Centre for Dental Research. 
In 2011, Dr. Cunha moved with his wife (Andressa) and three daughters (Leticia, Larissa and Helena) to Winnipeg to work as a Full-time Professor at the College of Dentistry, Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba.  Dr. Cunha became Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (Endodontics) in 2013 and, in 2016, decided to work in Private Practice full-time. Dr. Cunha joined Dr. Simona Pesun as the founders of Prairie Endodontics in 2018. Dr. Cunha has been a guest speaker at more than 200 events worldwide. Dr. Cunha has published more than 100 papers and abstracts in several peer reviewed journals and six book chapters and has extensive clinical experience obtained working in Private Practice limited to Endodontics since 1995.

Dr. Cunha is a Fellow of the International College of Dentistry (ICD) and is currently the President of the Canadian Academy of Endodontics (CAE).

Dr. Cunha is a real Winnipeg Jets fan and enjoys watching sports, swimming and enjoying his family during his spare time.

DR. MICHAEL RODILLO

Dr. Michael Rodillo was born and raised in Winnipeg and graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Science degree. He went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Dentistry, and a Doctor of Dental Medicine in 2016. After practising general dentistry for 3 years, he decided to pursue a career in endodontics and was accepted into the Graduate Program at the University of Michigan. It was from there that he obtained his Master of Science in Endodontics, and Certificate in Endodontics in 2022. Dr. Rodillo is a fellow in the Royal College of Dentistry as a Specialist in Endodontics in Canada. He joined Prairie Endodontics in 2022 and is also currently teaching at the University of Manitoba as a part-time clinical instructor.

 

Dr. Rodillo loves spending time with his wife, family, and dogs. He is a big sports fan but most of all, a huge Michigan Wolverines fan. Go Blue!!

DR. ALDO DEL CARPIO PEROCHENA

Dr. Aldo del Carpio P. completed his Undergraduate Dental Degree in 2005, which he obtained from the St. Mary Catholic University in Arequipa-Peru. Months after graduation, Dr. del Carpio moved to Brazil where he worked on his post-graduate studies at the University of Sao Paulo, including a Specialty in Endodontics obtained in 2008; Master degree (Focus in Endodontics) in 2011, and Ph.D. (Focus in endodontic microbiology) in 2015.  The last year of his PhD was done at the University of Toronto.

After moving to Canada, Dr. del Carpio worked as an associated research at the University of Toronto (2015), then he moved to Winnipeg where he worked as an Endodontic Fellowship and part-time instructor under the supervision of Dr. Rodrigo Sanches Cunha at the College of Dentistry, Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba (2015-2017). In 2018, Dr. del Carpio was accepted as an Endodontic resident at the University of Toronto, where he worked for three years in his MSc-specialty program. Currently, he works in private practice as an Endodontist and also as an Endodontic I course coordinator & part-time instructor at the College of Dentistry-University of Manitoba.

Dr. del Carpio is Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (Endodontics). He has published more than thirty papers in several peer reviewed journals and collaborated in two book chapters.

Dr. del Carpio enjoy swimming and fishing and love to spend his time with his wife Carolina, his son Adrian, his daughter Antonella and his dog Oreo.
